Curd Rice

Curd rice or yogurt rice or thayir sadam is a South Indian dish which is kept at the end of every meal. It tastes best with even pickles, chutneys, any veg or non-veg fry. It is an easy and quick recipe for travel too. We can also have this as main food or after lunch or dinner. Even kids too like eating curd rice. It is a very light and comforting meal. We can prepare this from the curd we make at home or from the ready made curd we buy from shops.

Preparation Time :20minutes

Cooking Time :5minutes


Ingredients:

  • Raw Rice -1cup
  • Curd/Yogurt/Thayir -1packet or 1cup
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Green chilli -2
  • Ginger -1inch piece
  • Curry leaves -A spring
  • Milk -1/4cup
  • Butter -1tsp
  • Salt -As required

Preparation:

  • Cook rice and keep
  • Chop green chilli and ginger into small pieces
  • Wash curry leaves and keep

Procedure:

  • Cook rice and keep
  • Mix curd/thayir/yogurt with rice and keep
  • Then mix it with milk
  • Pour butter in a pan
  • After oil gets heated add mustard seeds
  • After they crackle add green chilli, ginger and fry
  • Then add curry leaves and fry
  • Add this tempered ingredients over the rice and mix well
  • Tasty Curd Rice is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Cook rice and keep. Mix curd/thayir/yogurt with rice and keep
Pour butter in a pan. After oil gets heated add mustard seeds. After they crackle add green chilli, ginger and fry
Then add curry leaves and fry
Add this tempered ingredients over the rice and mix well
Tasty Curd Rice is now ready!!!
