Coriander Chutney without coconut/Malli Chutney/Cilantro Chutney

This is a very delicious and tasty chutney which goes well for idli, dosa and for snacks like samosa, vada etc. It can also be used as a dipping sauce for cutlets, rolls etc. It requires only few ingredients and only a little time to make but tastes very nice.

Preparation Time :15minutes

Cooking Time :15minutes

 

Ingredients:

  • Coriander leaves/Malli Leaves/Cilantro -1 bunch
  • Big Onion -1
  • Garlic -10 pods
  • Red Chilli -2
  • Tamarind -one inch piece
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Water -1tblsp or as required
  • Oil- -1tblsp or as required


Preparation:

  • Cut the roots of from cilantro and take the stalks aside and take the leaves and wash well to remove mud and dirt
  • Chop onion and garlic to fine pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add red chilli, garlic and fry well
  • Add onions and fry well till they become golden brown in color
  • Then add cilantro/Coriander leaves and fry till it shrinks off
  • Then switch off the flame and allow to cool
  • Then grind it by adding salt and tamarind
  • Coriander chutney is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:


Pour oil in a pan. Add red chilli, garlic and fry well
Add onions and fry well till they become golden brown in color
Then add cilantro/Coriander leaves and fry till it shrinks off 
Then switch off the flame and allow to cool. Then grind it by adding salt and tamarind 
Coriander chutney is now ready!!!
