Beetroot Fry

Beetroot fry is a tasty fry which goes well with rice. The preparation is very easy and simple. Beetroot is very healthy for our body too. Beetroot is the root portion of beet plant.Beetroot is rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals.


Preparation Time :15minutes

Cooking Time :15minutes


Ingredients:

  • Beetroot -1
  • Big Onion -1
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -1/4tsp
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Curry leaves -A spring
  • Green Chilli -2
  • Coconut -2tblsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as needed
  • Oil -1tblsp or as needed

Preparation:

  • Wash beetroot and remove the skin and grate it using a grater
  • Chop onion into fine pieces
  • Grind coconut in a mixer and keep. Grind it coarsely

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • After oil gets heated add mustard seeds
  • After it splutters add urad dal, cumin seeds and curry leaves
  • Then add onions and fry
  • Then add beetroot and fry. Close with a lid and cook for few minutes
  • Add the coconut gratings and mix
  • Beetroot fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. After oil gets heated add mustard seeds. After it splutters add urad dal, cumin seeds and curry leaves. Then add onions and fry 
Then add beetroot and fry
Close with a lid and cook for few minutes
Grind coconut in a mixer and keep
Add the coconut gratings and mix
Beetroot fry is now ready!!!
