This is a healthy soup which is made with Amarnath. Usually we use the leaf part and the stem part will be discarded. But in Amanath the stem can also be made into soup. This can be given to children who refuse to have spinach in their diet. Sirukeerai is good source of vitamin A, vitamin C,
and folate; they are also a source some dietary minerals
including calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, copper, and manganese.This
possess dietary fiber, which helps in enhancing digestion.Sirukeerai is
also a very helpful with people who suffer from diabetes. So it can be made as soup or fry or kulambu or can be taken in any form as you like.

Ingredients:
- Amarnath stem/Sirukeerai thandu -1bunch
- Big onion -1
- Tomato -1
- Garlic -4
- Red chilli -2
- Cumin powder/Seeraka thool -1tsp
- Pepper powder/Milagu thool -1tsp or as required
- Water -2cups or as required
- Salt -2tsp or as required
- Oil -1tblsp or as required
Preparation:
- Wash and chop Amarnath stem and keep
- Chop onion, tomato and garlic into small pieces
Procedure:
- Wash and chop the stem of Amarnath and keep
- Pour oil in a cooker
- Add red chilli, garlic and onion and fry
- Then add tomato and fry
- Then add cumin powder, amarnath stem and water and pressure cook for 3 whistles in high flame and in low flame for ten minutes
- After the pressure goes by itself open the cooker and strain it using a strainer
- Then add salt and pepper
- Sirukeerai thandu soup is now ready!!!
Step by Step Procedure:
Wash and chop the stem of Amarnath and keep
Pour oil in a cooker. Add red chilli, garlic and onion and fry. Then add tomato and fry
Then add cumin powder, amarnath stem and water and pressure cook for 3 whistles in high flame and in low flame for ten minutes
After the pressure goes by itself open the cooker and strain it using a strainer. Then add salt and pepper. Sirukeerai thandu soup is now ready!!!
