Curry leaves chutney/Karivepillai chutney


The very best combination for Dosai or Idly. The taste will be so good. The curry leaves contains full of vitamins such A, B, C, E, providing various health benefits.

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 15minutes


Ingredients

  • Curry leaves - 1 cup
  • Big onion - 2
  • Red chillies - 2
  • Garlic cloves - 20 pods
  • Turmeric powder -1tsp
  • Tamarind - 1 seed(small size)
  • Salt -1tsp
  • Oil -1tblsp

To temper

  • Cooking oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds/kadugu - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal/ulunthu - 1 tsp

Preparation:

  • Chop onions and garlic to fine pieces
  • Take the curry leaves and wash and keep

Procedure:

  • Pour  oil in a pan
  • Add onions, red chillies and garlic pods and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add turmeric powder and salt and fry
  • Add curry leaves,tamarind and fry
  • Let it cool and grind to a smooth paste
  • If needed temper and add to chutney

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour  oil in a pan
Add onions, red chillies and garlic pods and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color.   
Then add turmeric powder and salt and fry
Add curry leaves,tamarind and fry
Let it cool and grind to a smooth paste
If required add little water
Curry leaf chutney is ready!!

 

Note:

This can be stored in fridge and can be used for upto 3days
