This mint chutney or pudhina chutney is prepared without coconut but tastes very nice. Mint has a lot of medicinal effects. It helps in digestion and relieves indigestion. It boosts immunity an helps to relieve from cough and cold
Preparation Time :15 minutes
Cooking Time :20minutes
Ingredients:
- Mint leaves/Pudhina -2cups
- Big onion -1
- Tomato -1
- Red chilly -2
- Turmeric powder/manjal podi -1/4tsp
- Urad dal/ulutham parupu -1/2tsp
- Tamarind -a small piece
- Salt -1tsp or as required
- Oil-1tblsp or as required
To Temper:
- Oil -1tsp
- Mustard seeds/kadugu -1/2tsp
- Curry leaves -a spring
Preparation:
- Take the leaves alone from mint and wash and keep
- Chop onion and tomato into fine pieces and keep
Procedure:
- Pour oil in a pan
- Add urad dal and fry
- Then add red chillies and fry
- Then add onions and fry till they become golden brown in color
- Add tomato and fry till the raw smell goes off
- Add turmeric powder and mix well
- Add mint leaves and fry until it shrinks
- After it cools down grind it by adding tamarind and salt
- If needed add little water
- If u wish to temper pour oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves and add it to the chutney
- Mint chutney is now ready!!!
Step by step procedure:
